A man has been rushed to hospital following an attempted murder.

Police were called to Carnwadric Road in the Thornliebank area at around 11.35 pm yesterday, July 17, after receiving a report that a man had been seriously assaulted. 

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, and the 37-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he's said to be in a serious but stable condition.

A 44-year-old man has since been arrested, and police have said that their investigations are ongoing. 

Police have said they're treating the incident as attempted murder.

Our reporter was at the scene this morning, where there was still a police presence. 

Police were seen inside a building on the street, and CID were on the scene.

A local said: “I had no idea what had happened, I came out for a walk this morning and a big part of the road was all shut off."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.35pm on Thursday, 17 July, 2025, we received a report of a 37-year-old man injured after being seriously assaulted on Carnwadric Road, Glasgow.

“Police and Ambulance attended, and the injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

“The incident is being treated as attempted murder.

“A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”
